Tyler Shaw

The Ellington 10u team came up short 6 to 4 in the first game of the Round Robin in the Somers Wood Bat Tournament.  Colin McKee, Jack Weigand, and Declan Ellingwood collected hits, while Dylan McKee struck out 10 batters.  The team takes on Suffield tomorrow night.

Golden Gloves 16 Destroyers 9

Andrew Danforth

The Golden Gloves tied up the season series with the Destoyers with a 16 to 9 victory on M1.  The 3-4-5 hitters for the Golden Gloves continued to hit well as Jake Siegal went 2 for 4 with a triple and a single collecting 2 RBIs, while Amare Williams went 1 for 3 collecting 2 RBIs, and Andrew Danforth had his third straight multiple hit game going 2 for 4.  Josh Rockefeller hit a double.  For the Destroyers, Ryan Sagendorf led both teams with 4 RBIs while Matthew Emery hit a double and a single, also collecting an RBI, and Nolan Duskocy also collected a hit and an RBI.  Jackson Orvis came to pitch in the 5th to shut the door on any further offense from the Golden Gloves.  The Destroyers travel to Windsor Locks for their final game on Tuesday, while the Golden Gloves host Vernon Rockville on Tuesday.

Windsor Locks 15 Golden Gloves 5

The Golden Gloves fell to Windsor Locks 15 to 5 despite outhitting their opponent 10 to 5.  Amare Williams went 2 for 3 with a triple, while Andrew Danforth also went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.  Sourya Beesabathuni (1 RBI), Jake Siegal, Max Eckhardt, Liam Hebert, Liam Levesque, and Luca Albano (1 RBI) also added hits.  The two Ellington teams face off on M1 on Thursday.

Golden Gloves 15 Windsor 5

Chris Parlante

The Golden Gloves prevailed over Windsor Saturday night 15 to 5.  Josh Rockefeller hit a triple, Andrew Danforth went 3 for 4 including a double, and Jake Siegal went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBIs.  Chris Parlante led the team with 3 RBIs and Declan Ellingwood struck out 3 batters.  Michael "Sandman" Grimes, as usual, pitched and ended the game with 2 strikeouts on 11 pitches.  The team plays Tuesday at home versus Windsor Locks.

Suffield 15 Ellington Majors 4

Amare Williams

The Ellington Majors, in the first game played at the Majors level for all but one player, fell to Suffield 15 to 4, though the score does not reflect on a game well played.  Quinn Orvis contributed 2 hits, while Luca Albano, Jake Siegal, Amarie Williams, Chris Beadry and Andrew Danforth also contributed hits.
